Bio
Fiona Law is a Scottish born, Australia based visual artist known for her atmospheric abstract works that explore colour, texture, emotion, and the layered rhythms of both natural and built environments. Working primarily with acrylics, Fiona creates surfaces rich in movement and illusionary space, using an intuitive process that allows each piece to unfold organically through layered mark making.
Her practice is deeply informed by personal experience. After an accident that resulted in CRPS and disability, painting became both a grounding force and a means of rebuilding identity. This period shaped the direction of her art, giving rise to a body of work centered on resilience, healing, and the quiet beauty that exists within challenge. These themes continue to influence her approach, guiding her exploration of transformation, memory, and human connection.
Fiona now works as a full-time artist from her studio in Logan, Queensland, developing original artworks, commissions, prints, and small collectible pieces. She is also part of the Logan Creative Resilience and Recovery Facilitator Group, contributing to community-based projects that support wellbeing and recovery through creativity.
Her work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find moments of light within layered, abstract spaces. Each artwork carries elements of her story while creating space for others to see their own.
